Nicoleica Posted December 23, 2009 Share #102 Posted December 23, 2009 After reading of all the problems with the M12. I have decided to wait until the circle is complete, and will order an M25. Although I hear that there are long delays expected on that.
Rona!d Posted January 4, 2010 Share #103 Posted January 4, 2010 I´m still using my good old M24. Any news about a new firmware or did Leica stop the support for classic cameras?
Leitzmac Posted January 4, 2010 Share #104 Posted January 4, 2010 I'm waiting for the higher sustained frame rate of the M60, but I'm told it prefers three shot bursts to avoid overheating.
pgk Posted January 4, 2010 Share #105 Posted January 4, 2010 Please! Look up the custom function number 459 on the M12: "Automatic generation of a complaining thread on the Leica Forum upon potential M12 problem or failure of any description (big or small)" And change it from the default which is 'enable', to 'disable'. This will will allow the internet to speed up again.
haroldp Posted January 4, 2010 Share #106 Posted January 4, 2010 The M12 is good but it's just an interim measure and there is so much about it that is just not right. The firmware leaves a lot to be desired. Where is the face recognition and "street" mode that we were promised? And when will they support Ultravioletooth? The SSongyang DSLRs have had that for years. I'm waiting for the M14. Regards, Bill The M14 was relced by the M16 in 1969.

It does have a bayonet mount quick change barrel. (but no bayonet).
Leitzmac Posted January 4, 2010 Share #108 Posted January 4, 2010 It does have a bayonet mount quick change barrel. (but no bayonet). Some war photographers and the odd paparazzo working in close proximity have compained about the lack of bayonet, but I'm told the long barrel of the telephoto lenses means you don't have to get too close to the target - I mean subject. Iron Creek Posted January 4, 2010 Share #111 Posted January 4, 2010 I’ll admit I’ve only read volumes 1 & 2 of the instructions and I did watch the DVD however I’m stumped over which liquid crystal Sandisk to use. Have people tried the 1TB or 12TB disks? I’ve also heard that it can take up to 3 weeks to completely format a disk. I must say I like the set and forget all about it mode of the panorama mode. !Nomad64 Posted January 5, 2010 Share #112 Posted January 5, 2010 I want to go on record as being the first person to whine about the M12. It's a complete let down for me. The body/lens self-adjustment system requires that I have a Mac computer and the software's not available on my iPhone. I abandoned computer imaging with the M11 and now' date=' like most Leica users never print, just use the 4" screen on the back of the camera, and my iPhone to share. What happened to Leica ?? Are they no longer in touch ?? I think they've rushed this product to market and it's an interim model. It's diabolical that the M11's golden pearl paint finish has been dropped for this lime green sparkly. Plus, the radio transmitter doesn't work anywhere near as well as my 2 year old Nikon does. Think I made a mistake sticking with Leica.[/quote'] Mate, turn on your time-machine and go back to 2025. Here we are in 2010. Nothing to see here. Cheers, Bruno

dorman Posted January 6, 2010 Share #118 Posted January 6, 2010 I've still got some Kodachrome 25 in my cryo-safe deposit box. Is there any news on when the film back for the M12 will be available? Also I'm going to Mars for my holidays this year. Does anyone know how the the Subjective Universal Colorimetric Compensation System (SUCCS) will be affected by the excessive reds? pierovitch Posted January 6, 2010 Share #120 Posted January 6, 2010 Leica have announced the M app for the iPhone which plugs into the M3 shaped dock and allows you to mount any M lens produced. The images are still made in cloud stored virtual reality format but the viewpoint of the mounted lens and decisive moment can be recalled.
