And also from me, a big thank you to everybody for coming along . What a great opportunity to meet some of you guys from the forum and to be able to put names and faces together. Thanks also for organising it.

Absolutely agreed. A good get together, well-organised by James. I was struck by how little people look like their avatars...:D Great to see a good turnout in an excellent pub, with some "retail therapy" thrown in.

Here's to the next one.

Regards,

Bill

After the camera had done the rounds I'm not responsible for what ended up on the SD card! LOL.

Except for this one, M8 28mm Summicron 1/30 @f 2 ISO 1250 Mixture of incandescent and daylight through ceiling windows. About 4 people were "elsewhere".

This one by Anon :D 1/2 of frame, M8 1/30 sec ISO 1250 pushed 1.5 stops in processing. Very small amount of Noiseware applied to shadows.

James,

Thanks again for organising it. I was great meeting everyone and fun messing with all that Leica stuff on the table. Sadly, I seem to have returned home with the same D2 I arrived with - I was rather hoping when the music stopped I'd have been left holding the M8. Oh well, maybe next time :D

Cheers

Michael

Thanks to everyone for making it such a friendly and enjoyable gathering. For me it was a special treat to see close up and handle some splendid cameras I'd largely only read about on this forum. And a special thanks to James for organizing and choosing such a great venue. Only regret is that most of us, me included, seemed too reticent to show the prints we'd been asked to bring along.

Looking forward to the next time.

Best wishes

Steve

Thanks to James for organising and choosing such an admirable venue and thanks to all who managed to attend and make it a very enjoyable afternoon!

Here's the view from the 'other side'.

It's clear that there was a lot of interested and animated discussion; the image below was taken at 1/8000th and still couldn't freeze the action! :D

... well, okay I might have exaggerated the speed ever so slightly, and I blame any over-exposure on alcohol-induced operator error. At least the most important things are sharp - the weapons and the beer!

It was really nice to see everyone and to put names to faces - you'll be pleased to know that I've now read the instructions for the SF24D flashgun...:o

Well done to James for organising a great afternoon !!

A seriously good pub

Our organiser with his "dream toy"...

All shots RD-1, either ancient 50mm Summitar or modern 40mm Nokton.

Thanks to everyone who turned up yesterday, it was a very enjoyable afternoon, with good beer and good company. The organisation was nothing, it amounted to posting the first thread here and scouting a couple of pubs to decide on the venue (oh and testing the beer). It all depended on you guys turning up on the day!

Apologies to anyone who I didn't say goodbye to as we wandered off in search of the Leica shops, where one of our number couldn't resist a bargain!

Bill, I love the shot of our LTM's - very cute.

Thanks to Robert for letting me play with his new M8, here's a few of my shots - it was hard handing it back!

Look forward to the next one.

Just downloaded the few photos I took which turned out surprisingly well! Details as shown, all taken as jpeg, no processing apart from cropping to 3x2:

The first three are all ISO400 on the B&W setting

1/60 @ f2.0

1/10 @ f2.0

1/10 @ f2.0

ISO 100 1/3 @ f2.0 - how it came out so sharp is a mystery after the beer!

We don't want to keep this thread going for too long, but how about if we try to meet up for a Beer every month or so?

I think it would be nice to start some sort of Leica Photography club, where we could really meet and talk and show off our Photos... Once a month we show our best picture taken from the Month before, we'll discuss it at the meeting and then show it here on the forum for all member to be seen and judged.

I am sure other members would like to join as well and if it becomes a regular thing then we can all meet each other in time.

Just an idea,

Armin
