jdlaing Posted March 22, 2012 Share #122 Posted March 22, 2012 Very nice! What's the 28? CV? Yes it is. I quite like it! Must remember to set it in the menu though......found out about it the hard way.

IkarusJohn Posted March 22, 2012 Share #124 Posted March 22, 2012 Yes it is. I quite like it!Must remember to set it in the menu though......found out about it the hard way. So easy to do. I took a whole lot of pictures with my 50/0.95, manually coded as a 28/2.8. Not grave, but not smart either. I've set up profiles for manual selection - Standard for all my coded lenses, then a profile for each of the uncoded ones. It helps, as I go into the setting menus anyway to set White Balance. Somehow I had changed the lens selection in the standard profile (Doh!)

atournas Posted March 24, 2012 Share #128 Posted March 24, 2012 Hmm, interesting. There appears to be different loving emotions for the M9 and the MP. A hasty comparison of the responses to the original post in the first two pages of this thread and the "I love my MP" thread showed that, in this one, 14% were "I love my M9", while for the MP it was 66%; the rest were irrelevant to love. And, by the way, I have and use both. Paul

paulholland27 Posted March 27, 2012 Share #130 Posted March 27, 2012 I'm in too for some M9 loving! I must admit I saw this post a sometime back and have been thinking for a while i must try and take a snap of my beautiful little M9 and really show it off, but to be honest i've just been so busy using it!. I just checked the hex number and apparently in the last 11 months i've notched up just over 10,000 shots, I know this isn't a lot for day-in, day-out pros but i have been using it for street photography during the week to and from my day job and family at weekends. I never go anywhere without it. This camera really is amazing, it has after many years shooting M6TTL then MP shocked me just how good it is. I've recently taken photos of my family and on reviewing the shots can just about see my reflection in their pupils from 10ft away! I know the 35cron is also to be part of this but I cant say i ever noticed this with film, ever. Use it and enjoy it, its an amazing tool. scjohn Posted February 8, 2015 Share #136 Posted February 8, 2015 I loved mine too. Now I know it to be the single-most crappy camera I have EVER purchased. My sensor is corroded and WORTHLESS. I have NEVER seen ANYTHING like this on ANY digital camera. I know most of you posted before the corrosion issue came to light BUT there is NO love that can survive this problem. I PROMISE you ANY camera phone from 2005 can capture a FAR better image than an M9 with ANY Leica glass and a corroded sensor

But how many camera phones from 2005 can be sent back to the manufacturer and fitted with a replacement sensor, free of charges?

But how many camera phones from 2005 can be sent back to the manufacturer and fitted with a replacement sensor, free of charges? The fact is that ANY clear, product-wide manufacturing defect will require a recall regardless of warranty status. I am glad Leica made the offer before being sued but the fact remains that "loving an m9" at this point is like loving a serial killer. I have a photo assignment in a week. About $35,000 in Leica gear and I can't use the camera AT ALL. That's pretty weak.

You're right, with an investment of that size you should be able to use the camera, and Leica stores generally have gear to help customers out in situations like that.
