More from Times Square, a mecca for all that's shootable

M3, 75mm summilux, Cinestill 800

A potpourri of interesting, from the beautiful, to the selfies, to the masocists (yes, that's a nail coming out of his nose, as well as a dollar bill being stapled to his arm), to the colorful, to the seemingly out-of-place street resident (which I paid after I shot even though he didn't see me shoot him).

Very strong set of images of which the first and the last grab the attention-first image is reminiscent of young Vanessa Redgrave.

The results with Cinestill seem particularly good both in colour and grain and I can't wait wait to try some.

Love the selfie sticks-I wonder how you press the shutter with one of those??

Many thanks, Robert, Edgar, Lee and Stuart.

Robert- I have no idea how to pull the trigger on those sticks. Perhaps long arms come in handy for this?

Stuart - After the excellent commentary that you and others provided on my earlier sets with this film, I have taken extra care on the colors and WB. The many different sources of hues of lighting that radiate in Times Square are fun, but it they are also challenging to get the WB just right. I find that, with film scans, it is just not advisable - or even possible - to get it right in the first sitting. I find that it is a lot like writing in the sense that it benefits from being put down and picked up a few times so that eyes can refresh and adjust. Can't say I've got it perfect, but I definitely feel better about where I landed vs my earlier Cinestill sets over the past couple of months.

All the best,

adam

Many thanks, Ece, Harold, George and Mark.

Ece - No push. I exposed and processed this roll at 800. At f1.4 or 2, there is plenty of shutter speed.

Mark - I suppose one might actually tire of this little enclave after a period of time. Your weather, on the other hand, is a different matter :D. By the way, in my visit with Adrian (Adespan) last Friday in NYC, I picked you out of a crowd of Leica photographers in a photo that he showed my on his ipad. A proud moment for me, indeed. :)
