wilfredo Posted May 29, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently posted some photos of Buddhist monks from the Lien Hoa Temple. Here is the rest of the series. The Central figure here is Thich Chonh Thanh, my dear friend. He is an Elder figure in my life. His health has not been good and the members of his community have been wanting him to go to a studio for professional portraits. He refuses to go, so they asked me to come and take his pictures. There is a fear that his health will continue to decline and an urgency that his be done. The other night we looked at the photos together, they were all very happy, and my friend picked the first photo here as the one he wanted at his memorial when his time came to part from this world. We always joke about being in heaven together.

wilfredo Posted May 29, 2010 Author Share #14 Posted May 29, 2010 Wilfredo,Very nice portraits of people humble and dedicated Well reproduced in these photos Are there taken with Lux or Zeiss 50mm ? Henry My M8 kit consists of one lens for the moment, the 35mm Summicron ASPH. These were all done with that lens wide open at f/2. I'm on a waiting list for the 50mm Summilx ASPH. No telling when it will become available, I've been waiting over a month and I paid a 10% deposit so it's only a matter of time. The Lux would have been a great lens to have the day I took these photos but being limited to one lens has its advantages, it makes life simpler. My plan at this point is to limit my M lenses to the 35mm and 50mm focal lengths. I sold my 18mm Zeiss and 90mm Elmarit because they mostly sat in my bag and I'm using some of those funds to purchase the Lux. I also sold my trusted 50mm Hexanon which served me very well. That sale is also going towards the Lux. Leica is very demanding!!!
