Besides my Leica Rep... I suppose I could dig up the Video, which one of the product managers, were talking about it, from last summer....

Please don't dig up your Leica Rep but I'd be interested to see the video you mention.;)

We have been told that there would be a "R" solution, most likely at Photokina. So far none...

photokina 2010 is over and Leica had made their product announcements a week ago – the adequate solution for R lenses wasn’t among those. But then, Leica had never promised there would be something for R photographers this photokina. As I said, it is still too early.

Okay, see the post in the Customer Forum Thread, Photokina - Your Questions to Leica

Read Andreas' preliminary post #332 (admin) page 17, in the above thread for the comment about the R solution.

There is a video at Leica Rumors from Photokina with Stefan Daniels by 'Mega Pixel' but if one LISTENS to the question - it's about Leica making a DSLR like, and to compete with Canon FF and Nikon FF DSLR's - NOT whether there will be an R solution. There is a BIG difference, and too, Leica has said before that there will not be a Leica FF DSLR.

Read Andreas' post #332.

By whom?

Regards,

Bill

By whom Bill? I'll tell you by whom.

The guy at Leica I spoke to on the phone with the other day. Even HE sounded sick and tired of it... Bill. Even HE said this has been coming for two years... Bill.

That's "whom".... Bill.

It's all hunky-dory for you because you're am M user. Some of us don't WANT an M.

Don't get all "holier than thou" and snotty.

Photokina for sure, just not this photokina.

Stephan Daniels as much as said there is no solution under development.

Move on. We been screwed by Leica so use film, sell it off, or buy Leitax or Fotodiox bayonets or adapt them to Canon.

I can tell you R lenses work great on Nikon. APO ones are fabulous.

I'm an R user and I think you're reading something into Bill's post that's not there. He's simply (reasonably) questioning swamiji's vague assertion, using the passive voice,"We have been told ..." that an R solution was to be unveiled at Photokina.

Tell you what... read what I wrote not what you thought I wrote. I have just sold out of the R system after years of ownership (R7 and Leicaflex) - literally a couple of weeks before Photokina - because I am not naive enough to wait forever for something that might never come, and for which no concrete commitments have been made.

There is no R roadmap, at best there have been some aspirational statements.

Hope is not a strategy... Move on.

Regards,

Bill
