Virgil- Excellent!

Congratulations on your new acquisition and I wish you many, many wonderful shooting opportunities with it. You're going to absolutely love the M9, and with the 50mm Summilux, it's IMO probably one of the finest combinations available in 35mm format.

A week after I got my M9 I went out and bought a 50mm Summilux.

Thank you all for commenting.

Mike, on my film Ms in years past this was my favorite combo...it feels like I'm back home again..........:)

I do intend on keeping my M8.

Virgil,

Lovely shot. Keep us posted on any differences you notice in the images aside from the obvious advantage of FF and the larger file. Have fun with it (like I need to mention that) LOL.

BTW I think this picture would look great printed really big and hung in your home somewhere.

Thanks Wilfredo. My only reason for buying the M9 is the FF and not any potential improvement in image quality or higher pixels. The M8 satifies all that for me. It's just that I have used film Ms since the 70s and have a great deal of comfort with 35 and 50mm lenses at FF. For some reason though I've become somewhat attached to my M8 so am not willing to let it go....

I'm glad to hear you are keeping your M8. I can't afford the M9 at this time even if I sold the M8 but I too would be happy with the FF capabilities of the M9. That aside, I remain attached to the M8, it remains a great tool!
