Advertisement Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Hi tgm, Take a look here Erwin Puts M9 report part 4 online. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted October 6, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 6, 2009 More precise than previous, as I hoped. If he maintains this trend, the next, about the famed high ISO / noise questions, looks promising.
Overgaard Posted October 6, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 6, 2009 Great read to learn from. Puts does what he is best at in this one and which few other reviewers can do.
smb Posted October 7, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 7, 2009 It is very good to know that almost all Zeiss lenses will be fully functional on the new M9. This is another benefit of the new M9. This camera becomes more tempting each day.
tom0511 Posted October 7, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 7, 2009 I think in the M8-M9 comparison images the focus is slightly different. First image the M8 looks sharper and the M9 slightly OOF, and the second images the other way around. Also the larger sensor should show less DOF in this comparison-therfore it would have been more equal to stop down the 50mm lens on the M9 to f5.

Of course he could have focused differently on the two cameras. The las M8 looked unsharp to me, but what I really looked at was the way it handles light. And the out-of-focus look would be part of that.
jonoslack Posted October 8, 2009 Share #7 Posted October 8, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Oh Dear I fear I'm inadequate . . I lose the will to live after about 3 minutes. I guess it's my fault
BerndReini Posted October 8, 2009 Share #8 Posted October 8, 2009 Hahaha, I'm so with you Jon. I love reading anything about the M9, but this kind of techno geek stuff is too much for me. I can only recommend Sean's site for reviews with real life applications.
