offshore Posted October 5, 2009 Share #21 Posted October 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) How is emmarit 21mm 2.8? I tried to search on this forum of 21mm lens, but I don't see much. Do ppl use 21mm for wide angle for buildings and landscape? After I read all the negative hype from the experts about the Leitz 21 mm F2.8 non ASPH Elmarit I went out and started using mine and it has become my #1 lens. You can pick them up reasonably in today's used market.

Ronazle Posted October 10, 2009 Share #22 Posted October 10, 2009 I agree completely with Ivar's comments; the Biogon C is an absolutely superb (and small)lens. ron
khiromu Posted October 15, 2009 Share #23 Posted October 15, 2009 I agree completely with Ivar's comments; the Biogon C is an absolutely superb (and small)lens. ron ++1, since your main subject is buildings (lots of straight lines). I have one and I love it when i am outside. When I come inside, I miss Elmarit ASPH, though...

Besides, even if this might not be your primary concern in architectural photography, it performs beautifully wide open. As a plus, it can be get at attractive prices second hand. lct Posted October 15, 2009 Share #25 Posted October 15, 2009 ...my uncle told me that the vogitland doesn't have the leica feeling.... Disagree with your uncle here . I use both Elmarit 21/2.8 asph and CV 21/4 P. Sizewise the latter is the only true 'Leica' available, it's handy like a Leica, f/4 is a bit soft but bokeh is smooth and the lens is plenty sharp at f/5.6 and on. Beware that it vignettes a lot if you use it with the R-D1 though, you'll need to tweak your pics in PP then. Used C1 v4 and Silkypix for vignetting on that one. No cropping at all. lct Posted October 15, 2009 Share #26 Posted October 15, 2009 ...f/4 is a bit soft... Could be worst though. R-D1, CV 21/4 P, FF and 100% crop at f/4. http://tinyurl.com/yljf88w, http://tinyurl.com/yj5xva6
