farnz Posted September 26, 2009 Share #21 Posted September 26, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) i think it is annoying to go back and forth, ... Is it less annoying to have to go 2 or 3 pages deep to find threads that are less than a day old? Pete.
Advertisement Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Hi farnz, Take a look here Forum split M8/M9 - should it remain?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

ljclark Posted September 27, 2009 Share #25 Posted September 27, 2009 My guess is that the dust will settle. There are a couple of indicators -- (1) posts per day and (2) the M8:M9 ratio. Because I'm reading all three topics (X1, M8, & M9), I now log onto "Digital Forum". One thing I check is the ratio between M8 and M9. A few days after the introduction(s) the ratio was easily 4:1 in favor of M9. M8 was a backwater. But as that ratio draws closer, and if the volume isn't too high, then joining might be an option. markgay Posted September 27, 2009 Share #26 Posted September 27, 2009 A vote to reunify. In the M9 forum, of the top 30 threads as I write, 5 directly state a comparison with the M8 in the thread title. A third of the rest concern common issues – base plate labels, scratched LCD screens, shipping, sensor dust, battery charging, passport. Posting to the M8 forum seems much more disciplined, with only one M8/9comparison thread. Perhaps M8/8.2 owners are more at peace with themselves. Jase Posted July 4, 2011 Share #27 Posted July 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) The fora should be combined.
badmuts32 Posted July 4, 2011 Share #28 Posted July 4, 2011 Please combine both fora.
plasticman Posted July 4, 2011 Share #29 Posted July 4, 2011 Keep them seperate for a while until the dust settles... the dust never settled... M9 owners are still mutually reinforcing their choice-supportive bias by discussing how much 'better' the M9 is than the M8 - always right up there in the top ten discussions on the M9 section. Funny thing is, I never really see any images that convincingly back-up the supposed superiority of the later camera. Keep the sections separate - I believe most M8 owners prefer it that way. jaapv Posted July 4, 2011 Share #31 Posted July 4, 2011 Maybe people want to see them merged in order to demand an M9P forum later Seriously I can see the ratio behind the request, but do not care much either way.
spylaw4 Posted July 4, 2011 Share #32 Posted July 4, 2011 Keep 'em apart.
Don Morley Posted July 5, 2011 Share #33 Posted July 5, 2011 If the two forums are combined, 'Today's' postings will stretch over several pages. Pretty unwieldy, I would think. I agree with David, nothings broken so don't mend it! Don:)
Gerard Posted July 5, 2011 Share #34 Posted July 5, 2011 Perhaps wait for Photokina 2012 to make a change. Then the M9ers can join us outdated M8s and allow the M10 elite have a world to themselves. C'mon; they are all digital M's... how niche does a forum need to be?

sfokevin Posted July 7, 2011 Share #38 Posted July 7, 2011 I would prefer to be spared some of the full frame egos in the M9 forum Happily floating in the quiet backwaters of the M8 forum...
Guest Posted July 7, 2011 Share #39 Posted July 7, 2011 Let's hope a M10 forum will soon let the M8&9 fora merge and make these two models more affordable for many new fans of Leica M digital.
pop Posted July 9, 2011 Share #40 Posted July 9, 2011 Let's hope a M10 forum will soon let the M8&9 fora merge and make these two models more affordable for many new fans of Leica M digital. Could we please have two M camera forums, one for the even-numbered models and one for the odd-numbered ones?
