stunsworth Posted November 22, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 22, 2006 Bill, I score 1 - M3, I have an iPod, but not the one mentioned, and the only Sony Walkman I've owned is the Pro Walkman - which was a cracking cassette deck by the way. I don't even recognise any of those - what's a Sony ASBO?
bill Posted November 22, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 22, 2006 "What's a Sony ASBO?" It's a badly-behaved robotic dog with a Burberry collar... Regards, Bill
albertwang Posted November 22, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 22, 2006 Wow, Creative is on the list. Very nice. I love iPods too. M3 is a classic. It's the only analog instrument on the list?
stunsworth Posted November 22, 2006 Share #12 Posted November 22, 2006 M3 is a classic. It's the only analog instrument on the list? No!
bill Posted November 22, 2006 Share #13 Posted November 22, 2006 M3 is a classic. It's the only analog instrument on the list? No. If I understand you correctly, surely the original Walkman was also an "analog(ue) instrument" since it fed on good old audio cassettes...? stunsworth Posted November 22, 2006 Share #14 Posted November 22, 2006 Indeed it is Bill. The original version was quite expensive and had no noise reduction. I remember seeing it at one of the big Hi-Fi shows they used to have in Harrogate. It was being displayed under a glass dome so no one could get at it - or steal it for that matter :-) Not sure when that was, 1978 maybe?
andybarton Posted November 22, 2006 Share #15 Posted November 22, 2006 '78 would be about right. I had a friend at school who had the first one round our way, a black metal job. That would have been in early '79 I'd say.
