leicamann Posted September 27, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted September 27, 2009 Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments. I am still getting up to speed on getting the scanning right. Now I know the only way to get better detail and not lose my highlights is to do multiple passes, of course then the scans take much longer Tech details: Leicaflex SL /R 2.8 Macro Elmarit 60mm, Fuji Provia 100, scanned using the MicroTek Artixscan 4000tf using the ScanWizard Pro, latest version. I wanted to use my Vuescan which is usually better, but I have yet to make proper iT8 color profiles and find a way for Vuescan not to drop so much of my highlights. For those who scan, you know it can be very tricky, but IT IS possble. Cheers, JRM

leicamann Posted October 2, 2009 Author Share #14 Posted October 2, 2009 Thanks again folks. I am just talking to Ed Hammrick( Vuescan) about getting the ICC color profiles correct, once I get that working we should see even better scans and I can venture to the Kodachrome with confidence. I am also using the new Kodak Ektar 100, we'll see if its up to snuff. Best regards, JR Mead
