Advertisement Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Hi thrice, Take a look here First day Leica M9!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Fotomiguel Posted October 11, 2009 Share #42 Posted October 11, 2009 Photography is really difficult. Sometimes to be an artist is easier. Sorry for my comment but in my simple mind a unfocus picture is a mistake.
Overgaard Posted October 11, 2009 Share #43 Posted October 11, 2009 Photography is really difficult. Sometimes to be an artist is easier. Sorry for my comment but in my simple mind a unfocus picture is a mistake. No, it is actually very easy and the major problem is to keep it simple (which is why Leica are such a great cameras). I think it's great. But you have to look for what is there, not what is not there (such as focus or color or whatever you would normally think a photo should contain)
Mimaki Posted October 11, 2009 Share #44 Posted October 11, 2009 I like both photos, can't see what all the fuss is about... who is to say that all photo's must be in focus. Nice work.. and congrats on the M9!
Fotomiguel Posted October 11, 2009 Share #45 Posted October 11, 2009 I agree with you that keeping it simply is the way to follow. Lenses, aperture, shutter, compresion, speed, dof, iso, etc. All this is not so difficult at all. The basic rules of photography are not so difficult. With a M camera is the easiest way to put them all together. But looking for a special shot is more than this. Put all your skills and the image ,that is in your mind, in just an instant. The focus part of the image, shows what your mind was thinking when you shot. Total unfocus picture shows an unfocus thought or may be the intention of create a picture from something that is not worth to shoot. The most difficult part of photography is to find special things, persons, landscapes, etc to shoot and to have the skills and habilities to do it right. Bixi Posted October 11, 2009 Author Share #46 Posted October 11, 2009 thrice - Thanks for looking at my website. And thanks for commenting on my photos. Fotomiguel - Thank you for your comment. I'm not sure if "keeping it simply is the way to follow" are the words which I would use. For me, an unfocused image can be an unfocused thought. An unfocused thought is a thought which is in between the lines. I like to think and feel in between lines. It gives room for imagination and fantasy. Not everything has to be out spoken. Most of my photography is focused and clear. But not necessary better. Thorsten - Thanks for your positive attitude. I like it . Mimaki - Thanks for commenting in this uplifting way. jonoslack Posted October 11, 2009 Share #49 Posted October 11, 2009 Hi Birgitt I've just been looking at your web pictures with the M9 . Lot's of absolutely wonderful shots - I especially liked 'Chased' and 'Moving' but there are loads more. I also love the second of your blurry photos. I hardly need to wish you well of your new camera, you've obviously come completely to grips with it. Anyone who might have questioned those first two shots . . . just look at the website . . .Phew! Hey each to their own , I like em but probably not any real value in associating them with the M9...hope the boys on the C and N forums dont pick up on this one enjoy the camera:) andy Reminds me of a painter who once began painting pictures that didn't resemble reality. Thankfully he is dead, though they've kept his pictures in some snail house by Central Park Just because no one else thought of making blurred photos with a 14,000$ equipment package doesn't mean it's not a great idea. If you look carefully at the (blurred) pictures, there's bokeh all over them. And I bet you can't make that same sparkling bokeh with that many lenses (in case you can find the button to turn off the AF to begin with) Anyway. Like or dislike or just don't get it or dig it hopelessly. Point is the blurred photos are the best advertising for the 50/1.4 ASPH (I've) ever seen. Take a gander here at some neat stuff: LIFE photo archive hosted by Google Sherwood Sherwood darling, I never said that I'm the first one shooting images the way how I do. I'm just having a lot of fun being able to do photography. And I never made any money with it. I just do it because I love to and because I can. Simple as that. If you are moved or unmoved - this I have to leave up to you. But thanks for commenting anyway. And thanks for forwarding the LIFE link. Yes, there is some great stuff. Fotomiguel Posted October 11, 2009 Share #57 Posted October 11, 2009 Is clear that unfocus and unperfect photography is getting popular. Easy to shoot but finding a deep meaning and extra artistic. I'm going to try it. May be I'll become famous. This is my best bad shot. My wife likes it. But everytime I see it I remember how bad photographer I'm. Welcome, dear visitor! Fotomiguel - When you say "unfocus and unperfect photography is getting popular" I'm not too sure what you mean. What is perfect photography? I know what I like and I have a clear vision. But perfect photography can go different ways. There are images which most people like. But does this make it a perfect image? In my opinion - the most attractive photographs are - which have a touch of imperfection. Anyway, good luck in getting famous!
Fotomiguel Posted October 12, 2009 Share #59 Posted October 12, 2009 This is just my opinion, so not very important and don't take it too seriously. Famous??? I was just ironic. I want just to defend the kind of photography that I like. The importance of the moment or instant when the shot happens. and everytime is becoming more important. Why? Because photography is getting very very easy. Point and shot cameras, high isos, autofocus, 20mpx. Some photographers shoot 1000 photos a day, then a heavy post produccion with PS, cropping half photo, etc. The importance of the shot's instant has disapear. The post processing moment is now really important. I like a lot of unperfect pictures from some great photographers, but something in the picture have to be perfect and important. Then the imperfection becomes really nice.

I'm not looking for easy photography. I'm just looking. And hopefully finding whatever I'm looking for. And sometimes even finding without looking for it. That's when the image becomes most special.
