How do you protect your Leica assets?

Cosmetic marks won't effect your pictures, lol. Perhaps your resale value though. But then again, if you're a Leica nut, you'll know it's the biggest mistake to sell any Leica equipment. It's like selling children, perhaps you feel like it from time to time but a decision you'll surely regret.

Cameras give far more pleasure when used rather than Being pampred over.

Isn't that ever the truth!! I don't have a single instance, other when upgrading my M8's, where I didn't regret selling a Leica lens or body. :(

This one has been on lots of adventures and may not look pretty but it still works fine! I'd rather have a camera that looks like it has been used than one that looks like it has sat on a shelf. :)

A hand grip, like Photo Equip ML grip or maybe leica's, will protect the base plate.

To me, the grip also makes hand holding or carrying the camera with my hand much more comfortable than without a grip.

As for the leather case, I don't use it. When I carry two lenses, the one in the bag is wrapped in a lens cleaning cloth, or if I leave the bag in the car, I put that lens in my pocket.

I can't wait to get my M9, but I'm really sorry theirs no sappigher LCD like my M8.2, so I guess I need to get some LCD protector things. I'm also sad I can't use my IR-UV filter (no menu choice) to protect my 50nm 'lux. Can I cut the same LCD protectors into a circle and use them on the front of my lens?

first, I register camera and lens with stuffbak

StuffBak - Protect Your Mobile Assets

second, I itemize everything on my homeowners policy

and I carry everything in a Billingham M Billingham and Co Hadley Pro

or Fogg bag

http://www.foggspecialistbags.com/index.htm

[or put the lens and camera in a Billingham insert] and stick it in a pocket.
