Guest flatfour Posted September 13, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) My son on the Monza banking in 2000. It is extremely difficult to climb up to the guard rail. The surface is very bumpy and I couldn't see modern F1 cars holding together. They would have to be redesigned no doubt. Advertisement Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Hi Guest flatfour, Take a look here Old Monza - not like today's silk road.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

elansprint72 Posted September 13, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 13, 2009 Not as steep and smoother than some of the velodromes I raced on! The one on the shore of Lake Garda was an absolute bastard, Mussolini's concrete layers were crap. Admittedly Monza is "a little longer" in length. Superb shot Tony but it looks older than 2000, maybe it's that wonderful, ancient camera?

Guest flatfour Posted September 14, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 14, 2009 Pete - I think it was my old Leica III but I'm not sure. It could possibly be 1999. I took my two sons and a friend of their's to Monza and was able to do a few fast laps of the then current full grand prix circuit but on the strict instruction to avoid any incident. Marvellous. RPS Posted September 14, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is quite nice in so many ways. In particular, the content and composition really holds one's interest ... I've come back several times just to stare. Nice work.

Guest flatfour Posted September 21, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 21, 2009 I've checked the neg. It was taken with my Leica III fitted with the F2 50mm Summar. Glad you like it.
