andybarton Posted September 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2009 Shame about the line. I'd send it back if if were mine.
Guest WPalank Posted September 11, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2009 Lovely model, presentation and processing. Unfortunately, I think you should send back the camera to the dealer, as Andy suggests, immediately. A real shame.

Lasex Posted September 12, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 12, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The same line problem as with some brand new M8s.
Jamie Roberts Posted September 12, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 12, 2009 Great shots; sensor stuff happens. Had to replace one on my 1ds2 as well (new). Sorry about that! BTW--kudos on the processing. C1 or LR?
jplomley Posted September 12, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 12, 2009 Great post processing, selective DOF, and what a set of legs! Hard to tell in web posts, but any focus shift with the 35 Lux on your M9.
wilfredo Posted September 12, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 12, 2009 Wonderful images. Sorry the M9 has to go back. If you had said these were done with the M8 I would have believed you. Thanks for sharing.
soeser Posted September 13, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted September 13, 2009 Thanks guys! @Jamie - they are processed with C1 @jplomley - maybe true - I will check it with the new one. There were additional problems with my M9 - The Play, ISO and Set Buttons died after 3 hours of use. So possibly there are even more things wrong with my copy. With the M8 it was spot on. I'm sure it was just bad luck since no one else has any of this problems so far.

Visible at all ISO's if looked for. I suspect there will be many of them in the future just as there was/is with the M8/.2. Great shots, lovely subject (Wife or girlfriend?), enjoy your new tool. Venkman Posted September 14, 2009 Share #13 Posted September 14, 2009 Great shots. Love your lighting style. The line seems familiar and looks like the dreaded line that showed on a lot M8s at high ISO.
thompsonkirk Posted September 14, 2009 Share #14 Posted September 14, 2009 IMO these shots illustrate much more than the Line Problem: They show that the M9 is just not a high-ISO camera. The main improvement I can see – visible even @ 72 ppi – is much smoother tonal transitions, so that skin (or whatever the surfaces) looks more like skin. But this effect is most impressive @ 160 & is erased in the high ISO shots. Kirk
