Finnkare Posted September 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Any good ideas, where to send an M5 for repair in the EU? This is my question, because a) this way I'd avoid customs and bank transfer fees I'd probably have to pay if I sent it to Sherry and I need specific spare parts only found in an M5. Advertisement Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi Finnkare, Take a look here M5 repair in Europe?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted September 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2009 Why not at Leica - Solms ? AFAIK, they can repair M5 ... probably at no small cost. Anyway I'd say that Germany is the obvious Country to look at... I can say that in Italy there are at least three excellent labs (Benatti and Rentsch in Milano, Samca in Genova, maybe this is one of the top in Europe). rsh Posted September 11, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 11, 2009 Sherry is your best bet. Why would you have to pay customs and transfer fees for a repair?
Finnkare Posted September 11, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted September 11, 2009 Sherry is your best bet. Why would you have to pay customs and transfer fees for a repair? I'm not sure about the customs, actually. Maybe not, I'll have to look into it. My bank always wants to rob me for sending money to a non-ETA bank account. dsj Posted September 11, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 11, 2009 Mr. Reinhardt fixed my M5, the metering system to be exact. and he just did a perfect job. And I was lucky enought to meet him and I could immediately tell that he is the best man for the job cause he is the kind of man who really takes care of everything very very carefully and with the most respect for the tool. No question about that.
DBAUDUI1 Posted September 29, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 29, 2009 Would you buy a new M5 today? Nothing that you could have to send it for a CLA to a reputated Leica Repair shop. Would you send it to Solms?
