It was such a pleasure meeting and chatting with new and old friends from the forum and from Leica, you are all a bunch of nice people and I'm honored to have met you. I am about to get on plane home and I am beat but before I go to bed will post some of my M9 images I just shot. Cheers,

marknorton Posted September 10, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Riccis, Great images, I especially like the doors. What was the feature you were excited about that we all missed? I was expecting something in the "how did we miss that?" category.
jaapv Posted September 10, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 10, 2009 I would say you have the skin colours under control, something some other users are struggling with. Would you share your secret?
Jamie Roberts Posted September 10, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 10, 2009 I would say you have the skin colours under control, something some other users are struggling with. Would you share your secret? Natural light and judicious use of black and white maybe? Just kidding guys--it's late
johnbuckley Posted September 10, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 10, 2009 Riccis - in answer to your question, we all do. Always. JB
johnbuckley Posted September 10, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 10, 2009 What lens did you use for your shot of the kids with the ice cream? And yes, how did you get such a warm tone for the boy's face?
wilfredo Posted September 10, 2009 Share #12 Posted September 10, 2009 That first B&W shot displays wonderful tones and skin texture. Here's something worthy taken with the M9: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/people/98001-m9-1st-quick-test-portrait.html
Riccis Posted September 10, 2009 Author Share #13 Posted September 10, 2009 Mark - Thanks for your comments. I don't think the forum detectives have missed anything Jaapv - When it comes to pp, I like to keep it simple and not use filters or actions and instead I rely on custom curves created to my taste. But the easiest and fastest way that I balance the colors is by adding a "Color Balance" layer in photoshop and adjust shadows, midtones and highlights accordingly... Very simple and super fast way to get your color right... Yes, PhotoShop is a very powerful tool but a lot of folks usually forget the basics. Jamie - John - The kids with the ice cream was shot with a 50 lux ASPH... I had the lens pre-focused at either f/4 or f/5.6 and took the shot as I walked in front of them. Please see my answer to Jaapv regarding my post-processing techniques to get the colors. Wilfredo - Thanks a lot for your comments and the link. Due to an extensive travel schedule and yesterday's announcements I am not checking too many forum threads. I am packing my bags for a wedding in California over the weekend that will shoot with the M9 and will post additional images (including low light high ISO) upon my return on Monday. Hopefully showing M9 images shot in all type of lighting situations and as I will deliver them to my clients will put to rest all this nonsense that I've read stating the camera is not good enough for paid assignments.
