yanidel Posted September 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Another of this M9 + lens but, you know, I am tempted So I need advice from the experts again. The M8.1 50mm framelines were almost a perfect match for the 60mm Hexanon whose rendering and handling I really like and would like to keep. At infinity, the 60mm still showed a bit more than the framelines as the M8 was set up for 0.7m distance. The M9 being set for 1m, and knowing that depending on the frame selected the safety factor is between 7% (28mm) and 18% (135mm), I have hopes that the 50mm framlines will work with the 60mm pretty well too, maybe even better than on the M8.1. Anybody good in math can help ? (my knowledge is limited to financial formulas unluckily)

UliWer Posted September 7, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2009 There might be help: Just make use of some financial formulas, buy a M9, fix the Hexanon and look for the results.
lct Posted September 7, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 7, 2009 ...Anybody good in math can help ? (my knowledge is limited to financial formulas unluckily) As far as i can recall, 60mm lenses have always fit the 50mm framelines on film bodies. Same for 40mm lenses with 35mm frames BTW. Aside from closeups of course.
JSU Posted September 7, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 7, 2009 Yanidel-- This might be an opportunity to finally try out that 60mm Bright Line finder that was sold with the Hexanon 60/1.2. I'm personally wondering if my Super Angulon 21/3.4 will be usable on the M9 much as I used it on a M6, no metering but still a visual signature unlike the newer 21mm offerings. --JSU
