antistatic Posted September 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) With all the hysteria going on about the 9/9/09, I felt the need to give my M2 a hug and remind myself why I was drawn to Leica in the first place. And yes I will take photos with it tomorrow.

jplomley Posted September 2, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I loaded a roll of Neopan 400 yesterday into my M7 after reading all the M9 hype, and gave a huge sigh of relief. I then went for a walk-about and fell in love all over again. Today I tested a 75 Cron Asph on my M8 for focus shift and it met all specs. Good to know, but I realize the real pleasure will come when I shoot it on my M7 at f/2 on Neopan. There is a lot of talk about people selling their M8s for an M9, well, I'm thinking of selling one of my M8s for a second M7

firststream Posted September 2, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 2, 2009 I'll buy an M9 - when it comes with a .92 viewfinder as nice as my old lady's...
innerimager Posted September 3, 2009 Share #12 Posted September 3, 2009 yes indeed. It's nice just sitting back and watching whatever the M9 turns out to be with no feelings of want, let alone need. My M7s are all the full frame Leica I need! best....Peter
JBA Posted September 3, 2009 Share #13 Posted September 3, 2009 Recently bought 2 new MPs that get hugged pretty regularly along with my increasingly brassed faithful companion. All three are enjoying a healthy diet of Kodachrome. Kind of ate into any budget for the so far imaginary M9.
Riccis Posted September 3, 2009 Share #14 Posted September 3, 2009 I have an M3 in Solms getting a CLA and new cover as it will be heavily used for another 50+ years and a brand new MP anthracite kit waiting for me when I return to the US next week and give it its intended use (put thousands of rolls through it ) Yes, I am very excited about the possible M9 but my film cameras are not going anywhere... I'm actually hoping to find the MP3 set I'm looking for as folks start to sell the film Ms in the closets in order to make room for the M9. Cheers,
KCS Posted September 3, 2009 Share #15 Posted September 3, 2009 My M6s get a lot of attention. My DSLR, on the other hand, is getting neglected.
poynterama Posted September 3, 2009 Share #16 Posted September 3, 2009 Maybe now is the time to pick up a film M body if the market becomes flooded with 'fundraising' sellers trying to scrape some cash together for a digi! Better see what I can find down the back of the sofa and do some trawling on ePrey
MPerson Posted September 3, 2009 Share #17 Posted September 3, 2009 yes indeed. It's nice just sitting back and watching whatever the M9 turns out to be with no feelings of want, let alone need. Peter - precisely my feelings. My M2 or MP go with me everyday and are used everyday.
batmobile Posted September 3, 2009 Share #18 Posted September 3, 2009 The M9 may be interesting to me, but I totally agree. Right now, my film Ms are doing everything I could ask of them. If the M9 turns out great, then fine. If not, it won't really matter to me. I would only hope that Leica makes enough money to keep going!
Finnkare Posted September 3, 2009 Share #19 Posted September 3, 2009 I'm not gonna use digi unless I'm forced to. I'm happy if Leica's economic future seems more positive with their digital products. And I'm also happy that the digi generation has the possibility to use rangefinder cameras. Well, the digifilm was coming, but bought away and not developed more... fursan Posted September 3, 2009 Share #20 Posted September 3, 2009 I am fed up with chasing the latest and the hottest. Fed up, Fed up, Fed up. My M7/MP and the M8 shall remain till they are non-repairable or my kids want to throw out my belongings when I am gone. No N, No C, No Mx. That's it. ( hopefully )
