Mark reading the previous thread of 5 pages I think you have 100% support....the moderator was plain wrong. I think like others that your threads on disecting the Leica M8 (twice now!) remain excellent and informative. I also like very much your insight into the Leica M cameras. I did read your interesting post on the technicalities in connexion with a FF M9, as well as I also studied with great interest your older post with deconstruction of an M8. However, I did not follow the long discussions followiing your interesting post on the FF M9, so I was greatly surprised to hear that you had left us. Let that be a warning to as all and to the honourable moderators: Keep trolls out of the Forum by ignoring them whenever you discover them, and take care that everybody draft their posts in a respectful, polite and non-offensive manner. If there should ever become a next time, where anyone considers leaving the Forum because of personal attacks, we might all consider whether it would not be more advisable to threat with staying than to threat with leaving so that the trolls do not conquer "our" favourite Forum. Mark I don't believe you'd really have left , life's too short for this sort of nonsense, there are far more pressing issues in the world today such as .... M9 and 09/09/09. When a community is taken over by cops it is the beginning of its demise. Hopefully it's not hapenning here (yet). Nugat, your excessive use of adjectives is out of order. They do not apply, as far as I know, to any of the moderators, of which I am one. I invite you to ponder on why this forum is arguably the best and friendliest on the net. It doesn't just happen! Admin and moderators do a lot to stabilize the ebb and flow of emotions that inevitable occur. We are human and make mistakes, just like you. I like to think we are all big enough to admit when wrong and move on. To be criticized for a voluntary, if imperfect service is unreasonable. Please think on it. marknorton Posted August 28, 2009 Author Share #37 Posted August 28, 2009 LOL, I remember when I did the original M8 anatomy, some kind person suggested what we in the UK would call a "whip-round" to raise the money to have it put back together! Actually, I've spent some time putting it back together from its extreme stripped-down state. Certainly would mind a few minutes in the Leica parts department to replace some of the screws which are looking a bit tired, both otherwise, it's fine. Expelling shouldn't be a moderators tool unless it's brand new posters who obviously doesn't know where they are and don't care (such as spammers). overgaardcom, to the best of my knowledge, no one was expelled. Ru_di Posted August 28, 2009 Share #40 Posted August 28, 2009 ..in my view...if Mark had followed the often given when people leave....(to go and not open "bye bye" threads)...then he would have been gone forever, cause obviously the "short leash" and the "not long before u look from the outside" was enough to drive him away.... ...i like the idea of having a code of conduct for this kind of warnings....and that mails like the one mark norton got are the result of a combined decision from at least 2 or 3 mods....
