My black chrome M8 body has slight signs of wear and tear, which makes this feeling even stronger. With the M9 in my hands I'll have no reason to use the M8 regularly anymore. That's is still a huge difference and a considerable savings. If indeed that is the case then I don't think the price will drop down to $1500.00. Only time will tell. At this time it pains me to think of parting with my M8. I think it depends more on what the new price of a M8.2 drops to. I imagine that Leica will indulge in a little price discrimination to ensure that the M8.2 remains an attractive 'entry level' camera once the M9 is available. I have had a provisional order (with modest deposit to secure my #1 place in the queue at my local dealer) in on an M9 for three weeks. I have an M4 and IIF for Leica back up and a Ricoh GX200 for digital back up. I just would not use an M8 enough to justify the cost of keeping it, rather than the money in my bank. When I used film M's I often carried three or four with different lenses and different speed film. We don't have to worry about the film speed anymore, but it's always nice not to have to change lenses! Especially when changing lenses with digital usually means dust spots to clean up later!
