scaryink Posted August 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) What was I thinking? For months I have carelessly been organizing my files according to content and date. This of course for future reference. Anyhow, I made the mistake of MIXING my m8 files with the digits from other cameras I use - without any virtual or physical barrier between them!! Today I was searching through some photos and realized I couldn't tell which camera was used for some shots. I zoomed in to some potted plants in the upper left corner at 100%, 200% and on. I looked for CA, contrast, bokeh between Leica glass versus Zeiss, Voigtlander and, gulp, Canon. Somehow the images that were good were because of how I shot them - not because of the camera!! This is a terrible. Those filthy other digits have contaminated my beautiful German wunderkinds. I can't wait for the M9 to come along and finally put me back on track and re-establish the superiority of my consumption to every other camera buyer. I hope alll here learn from my horrible mistake. I wish Leica had given us a warning about mixing photos from different camera manufactures.

Just take a peek at the exif data, it will tell you which camera you used.

scaryink Posted August 14, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted August 14, 2009 Ah yes thank you, I didnt think to look to the left of my C1 screen. The bigger question is how did those other files somehow make my M8 images look similar to other camera photos? How is it that so many of my Leica files are average at best? I thought when I purchased the best equipment, I should get the best photographs. I cant wait for the M9 to solve this huge problem. The M8 is a rip-off. Mark Pope Posted August 14, 2009 Share #8 Posted August 14, 2009 Yes, but only 1.33x better ... @Scarylink - don't you use anything like Lightroom to keep your files organised? Cheers Mark
adan Posted August 14, 2009 Share #9 Posted August 14, 2009 It's obvious what happened - you hit the two-year lifespan of your M8, and the fairy dust wore off. Like Cinderella at midnight, it has turned back into a pumpkin.
