I was in a layby sorting out my camera kit after a shower and had just put the 50mm Summicron back on when this car pulled in behind me so I stepped out and got chatting to the owner.

Turns out it is a Morgan 3 wheeler (998 cc) that he bought 60yrs ago when he was 17, he had been at a "Hill climb" event with it and was on his way home but stopped to put a coat on due to the rain.

He had just completed a 1000mile journey around the country as part of the Morgan Centenary event that will culminate next weekend at Cheltenham, Glos (Blast, I am going up north for a few days so will miss it).

The car was in immaculate condition except for 1 spotlight that had fallen off during the trip so was in the car waiting to be refitted.

Great car and great man!

Lansky,

Great images of a lovely Trike. I'll probably go next weekend to the Racecourse for the meet (even though I'm a Lotus fan!). I might get lynched if I turn up in my Seven.

Anyway I didn't realise you were just down the road. I'm in Charlton Kings; we should meet up for a beer somewhere in between.

Best wishes,

Charlie

I really love those 3 wheelers! Not many of them left in the USA. I really like the photo of the engine showing the exposed rocker arms with Zerk grease fittings! Lovely oil lines too! I guess the passenger doesn't need to see where they are going as there is only one windscreen wiper!! What a marvelous car.

I recall an article written by Ken Miles about dating his wife while owning & driving a 3 wheeler. LOL with the story where hot oil is dripping on her nylons due to a leaky line to the oil pressure gage!
