Where do you keep your M8?

At home I usually have my M8 on the kitchen counter perched on some crumbs my kids left and the M7 on the dining room table sitting next to a wine stain - of course they are always moving around. The point being do you keep your kit out in the open and subject to the hostile environment of living?

Two days ago while on vacation, my gf and I went horseback riding and cave diving. I thought the M7 would fit this outing perfectly and kept the M8 at our cabin. After many shots I put the M7 back in its cheap no name camera bag - next to the M8.

Now I have come home to the fresh aroma of horse shit that has spread from the M7 to the M8. For some odd reason the M8 is performing much better now.

I am wondering if Mr. Puts has actually considered the benefit of shooting his cameras in real life situations instead of a target pinned to his closet drawer?

I find the mixture of analogue and digital M's a wonderful and complete recipe. One is not better than the other. What do you think?

For long time storage I have this drawer where I keep my film and digital cameras. But mostly the M8 (which I use most) just lays around. I almost never use a camera bag and either just pop it into a rucksack or hang it from the strap over my shoulder.

I bought Luigis leather cover though (for fun) and find out that it really protects my camera from all the bumping around and handling with dirty fingers.

Around my neck or in a bag at my side... why do you ask? Are you looking to purloin the world's supply of M8s? If so, keep in mind that its never all that far from my 45 or my sawed off 12 gauge.
