ian moore Posted July 23, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am currently using an R9 in Turkey. I have had this camera for four years with no problem, excellent camera. However, all of a sudden, the display is only partially visible. I can see the top half of the aperture reading, with maybe part of the speed reading. My chosen exposure method appears in full,or not at all. The camera still seems to be working,it is simply that the display is not. I have of course changed to new batteries. Any clues as to the problem would be helpful. As I am based in the U.K.,can anyone advise as to who I contact to get the camera repaired (which I assume I will have to do)? All my M's work perfectly and I have never had to send my leicas in for repair. Thanks, Ian.

jaapv Posted July 23, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2009 There is probably sometihing wrong with the (connections to) the LCD. Leica Milton Keynes seems to be the answer, or send the camera directly to Solms. For the time being: if it functions, just keep on using it until you are home. SH Photo still has new R9 bodies, body only in anthracite, demo bodies in black, or brand new black bodies packaged with the 35-70 vario-elmar. They did have brand new black bodies until very recently --- I bought a second one about two months ago. Guess they sold out. SH photo GmbH Jeff. topoxforddoc Posted July 24, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 24, 2009 Ian, It's a back to Solms job for that. Sadly David Humphreys at Leica UK is unable to do any R repairs at Milton Keynes as all the R spare as are located in Solms. It'll takle a few weeks, I'm afraid Charlie
