stuny Posted July 18, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2009 Martin - They seem very patient. I like the shot for its unusual composition (a horizontal shot of vertical subjects), light, contrast, tonal range and texture.
Marquinius Posted July 18, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 18, 2009 Martin, These trees sure are worth your attention. It's funny how something like this keeps on begging for your eye and one day you just HAVE to take that photo. I know a couple of trees like that. On a deeper thought: they are the oldest and biggest living creatures in the world. If only they could tell ...
martin Posted July 18, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted July 18, 2009 thank you Marco, I think you got my feeling. At first I wanted to tell a stoy from an old couple, a man and his women. living together and getting old. Here you see the trees at the end of their life, in a few weeks or month someone will cut them. But I also liked to take them with the lense wide open at f2.0 so nothing but the trees is sharp. And therefore the summicron is the best partner at all, taken with the M Leica you have no mirror swing vibration and you can go out in the dawn when light disapperas. The wood behind the main scene is covered in the darkness. Some may think that's boring, but I think that's realy exciting.
vdb Posted July 19, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 19, 2009 I instantly thought of the old couple metaphor. I am surrounded by trees and can't stop photographing them:)
carylwithay Posted July 20, 2009 Share #7 Posted July 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like all that texture on the trees and the way you have presented it. I often shoot texture on trees just because it intrigues me. Caryl
