stuny Posted July 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2009 Mauro - Excellent for subject, moment, framing, light, contrast, tonal range and detail. I suspect that the small rodent would not agree.

maurometallo Posted July 15, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted July 15, 2009 Thanks for looking, I'm happy you enjoyed. I used a V-LUX, @ 420mm; f:4.Considering its purchase price, a GREAT tool for this kind of images (plenty of light, far subject...)!

And don't worry: No rodent was harmed to take this shot; Both animals are well trained, expert actors and they make a living staging this scene for us photographers... :D

vdb Posted July 16, 2009 Share #14 Posted July 16, 2009 Excellent Mauro as everyone has said. What bird is this? It does not look like a raptor to me so I am surprised to see the dead rodent.
maurometallo Posted July 16, 2009 Author Share #15 Posted July 16, 2009 Thank you for watching, Virgil. I don't remember what bird that is. I took the kids to the zoo and it was in an exhibit of the Hindo-Himalayan pavillion... Further info are actually welcome.
michali Posted July 19, 2009 Share #16 Posted July 19, 2009 Excellent Mauro as everyone has said. What bird is this? It does not look like a raptor to me so I am surprised to see the dead rodent. Virgil- I stand to be corrected, it looks to me like a juvenile Long Tailed Shrike. They hunt small rodents and other birds, impaling their prey on thorns.
