I have not done any systematic testing. I first set it for 3, lately 2, and don't see obvious benefits of prolonging the scan time to 3. Any experience out there would be appreciated. Thanks....Peter  Peter, I think there are other variables here. The scanner itself, the object your are scanning & it's qualities. Is there a preset profile for the film (just an example) & what is the difference with it's use or not or a different preset. Time & trial I fear is the only way to know for sure.
