Death of the R - How do you really feel?

So your choice is keeping your DMR or using a canikosony in stop down metering mode if you want to keep your Leica lenses. Easy choice if you like your DMR no?

Given that there is NO future for Leica R glass users (until maybe they come up with a third party solution. Someday), the Nikon / Canon / Sony (Leitax) option actually feels pretty good so far...

There are plenty of ex-DMR users out there who were waiting for an R10. If that's not to come, we can vote with our feet. I already have, and I am very happy with my choice.

I mentioned earlier that I was considering getting out of the R system, and did so about 3 weeks ago.

After advice from another former R user, I went for a Nikon D700 system rather than the Canon 5DMk2, and have to say that so far (after ~650 images) I'm delighted. I'm particularly impressed with the high ISO performance of the large-pixel sensor on the D700. Both ISO 1600 and 3200 give good, clean images, and even 6400 is useable.

I am sticking with my R Cameras and Lenses. Just because they are no longer made does not mean they can no longer produce.

Nikon and Canon both have some great lenses, but they do not inspire confidence like Leica lenses, at least for me.

One day I hope for a solution from Leica.
