Advertisement Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Hi Marquinius, Take a look here a snapshot of his majesty. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
eckart Posted June 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 5, 2009 Oh lala, Marco, on this picture it looks more that he could eat from your head:D Did you do this with a small camera like a c-lux?
pauledell Posted June 6, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 6, 2009 Marco, What a magnificant friend you have. Equally magnificant is that capture. Lovely colors, sharpness and composition. The perspective used to take this picture makes it perfect. Paul
vdb Posted June 6, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 6, 2009 I agree with Paul. You are lucky to have such a friend.

Marquinius Posted June 6, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted June 6, 2009 @Eckart: as I'm (almost) bald, the eating of my head wouldn't hurt . I used my Lumix DMC-FX30 (= Panasonic with Leica lens, back up camera and "close to water camera") @Paul, Virgil and Albert: he really is very friendly and sometimes even gets in our garden. Big fun, with our cats and all . Mother isn't shy either and even lets me approach her kids. All a matter of not moving to fast, watching how she reacts, taking a hint when she gives you one and not worrying too much. Oh, and securing the camera in case I miss a hint For cuteness sake another snapshot, now the whole family. Marco

Bertje Posted June 7, 2009 Share #8 Posted June 7, 2009 Great picture it is Marco. Frog perspective. I tried to picture the swan family in my neighbourhood but I didn't succeed.
Marquinius Posted June 7, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted June 7, 2009 @Martin: glad to share the friends @Bertje: I'm not sure I would do the same with any pair of swans. It took me quite a while to get them at ease. Try just sitting close and feeding them close to you. But let them approach! Marco

allamande Posted June 8, 2009 Share #14 Posted June 8, 2009 Marco, I loved that first shot, then as I read through the thread and saw the second I had a big smile on my face You are lucky to have that family around. Ece
stuny Posted June 8, 2009 Share #15 Posted June 8, 2009 Marco - Superb espcially for low vantage point, but also light, color, detail and composition. The 2nd isn't quite as dramatic but it has a very high cuteness factor.
Marquinius Posted June 9, 2009 Author Share #16 Posted June 9, 2009 Ece, Stuart: the first one was what I came for, the second one was indeed for that warm fuzzy feeling and a smile. Marco
biglouis Posted June 9, 2009 Share #17 Posted June 9, 2009 Marco Lovely shots. As others have stated the low angles make it all the more interesting in both pictures. Louis

Marquinius Posted June 11, 2009 Author Share #20 Posted June 11, 2009 @Ben: just to sit at the waterfront (back of the garden) with a cup of coffee, watching and wondering, taking that photo. Not bad living at all! Marco
