I think that it's a lovely lens with excellent image quality. Besides being less expensive than others, it's also compact and doesn't intrude into the viewfinder area. The reason I picked this one after research was the fact it is actually 47mm on M8. I knew I am using 50mm focal length a lot from Canon experience. So far I am very happy with this lens. It is so compact, and the image quality at every f: stop is absolutely first rate. The performance is also excellent in both close and distant shooting.....a very versatile lens, with a nice OOF image. And I thrown away 200 Euros more when chose one of the two Elmarits 24 asph they offered me... I had both in my hands, I tried both - identically good - BUT...
