ismon Posted June 5, 2009 Share #61 Posted June 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Could you PLEASE publish an on-line "Handbook of the Leica System". There is a shocking lack of general information regarding your product line. Need to replace a filter or lens cap, and nobody knows the catalog number---nobody. That is why old Leica users treasure their catalogs as much as their lenses ! We cannot buy your stuff if we don't what is available. There is, after all, more to lust after than just a Noctilux. marknorton Posted June 5, 2009 Share #62 Posted June 5, 2009 Many here feel Leica lost its way with the M8.2's Snapshot feature. It might be useful for the novice user, for the rest of us, it's an annoyance. Will Leica please make sure that if marketing still insists they cannot sell the M9 without it, the feature can be switched off and replaced with something more relevant to experienced M photographers? Will Leica please provide a centre button on the thumb wheel in the M9 which, when pressed in review mode, displays the centre of the image corresponding to the focus rectangle in the viewfinder? Steve Ash Posted June 5, 2009 Share #63 Posted June 5, 2009 Could you PLEASE publish an on-line "Handbook of the Leica System". wildlightphoto Posted June 6, 2009 Share #64 Posted June 6, 2009 Have a look at the Leica homepage, it is all there: http://us.leica-camera.com/assets/file/download.php?filename=file_1731.pdf Unfortunately this does not include discontinued equipment. ismon's idea is excellent and I'd gladly contribute my R-knowledge to such a resource. ismon Posted June 6, 2009 Share #65 Posted June 6, 2009 A genuine Gesamtkatalog is about 275 pages of info, with no pretty photos.
marknorton Posted June 7, 2009 Share #66 Posted June 7, 2009 Another Question. A number of users are reporting a brown "coffee ring" or rectangular stain on the M8 LCD. What is the cause of this - dust/dirt on the LCD, ageing of the LCD display?

lars_bergquist Posted June 8, 2009 Share #68 Posted June 8, 2009 A genuine Gesamtkatalog is about 275 pages of info, with no pretty photos. What? No neekid wimmin? But strangely, I would go look at an online Gesamtkatalog nevertheless. But of course, I am a pervert. I prefer ladies in the flesh to ladies in print. And online, please ... would you download the Wikipedia, even if you could? The old man from the Age of Marlene Dietrich

godsic Posted June 12, 2009 Share #71 Posted June 12, 2009 Firstly, I buy Leica V-LUX 1 six months ago and now notice from my early RAW files that sensor has a few dead pixels. Is can replace it? Is it subject of warranty? Is Leica can supply me with V-LUX 1 color profile? Thank you.
Guest flatfour Posted June 12, 2009 Share #72 Posted June 12, 2009 Wiil you be producing a Digital camera the size of the LeicaIII taking R or M lenses ? PLEASE
atournas Posted June 14, 2009 Share #73 Posted June 14, 2009 I want to believe that the current Leica people understand the uinque status of their company, namely, the weight of the Leica masters' tradition and the Leica users' loyalty. If that is the case, the R lenses owners should not worry that their lenses may become idle in the near future. For we don't expect anything less than an R9-quality digital body. Firemedic Posted July 18, 2009 Share #74 Posted July 18, 2009 Will the M9 have an exposure lock and an adjustable diopter?
rick_dykstra Posted July 21, 2009 Share #75 Posted July 21, 2009 I doubt you will see an M8.2 in any pro's hands, rather, only the serious and wealthy amateur's. I was watching a Four Corners program a few weeks back - an Australian investigative journalism program - and it was about power politics in Afghanistan. It showed footage of a car bomb going off in the north. Two Australian photo-journalists were caught in it, sustaining many cuts and probably some hearing damage. One was video-ing the other when the bomb went off and afterwards, with immediate commentary on what was going on. The guy doing the talking had a blood splattered M8 and an MP around his neck.
