While sitting on a bench in the renovated Washington Square Park early Saturday morning we saw ample evidence of why you should not feed wild animals. He had good taste, though, going after our Balthazar bread.

Virgil - Thank you.

Michael - Thank you. We returned home one time from a long vacation to find that a squirrel had gotten into our home and did quite a bit of damage. Regarding the squirrel in the photos above, if you look carefully you can see that he has a small calibre semi-automatic hand gun (paw gun?) in his shoulder holster.

Stuart,

Great shots with wonderful color, clarity and framing. Very humorous. Is the squirrel going to be busted for the Sullivan Act violation. I hear Mayor Bloomberg is quite serious about that.

Paul - Thank you. I guess they have to catch him before they can busdt him for the Sullivan Act (named after a political boss, Big Tim Sullivan).

Ece - Thank you, but no, we did not feed him.

Squirrel = long haired tree rat :D

The pictures are great - I can recall a conference in Kent-Ohio (...) & have fond memories of sitting on the lawn of the college watching the large nr. of Squirrels. Remarkable little creatures.

Soleforeal - Thank you. I almost always have at least one camera with me. Most frequently the PanaLeica Lux.

Stephen - Thank you, and never forget that they are rodents.
