MPerson Posted May 24, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2009 Charlie - nicely handled considering the cars finish and bright sunshine. #2 does it for me.. Can you get Autosol in 5 gallon drums?

stuny Posted May 25, 2009 Share #5 Posted May 25, 2009 Charlie - I agree. Interestingly, the polished metal finish makes the car a lot more attractive to me than the painted ones.
topoxforddoc Posted May 25, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted May 25, 2009 Soleforreal and Stuart, Thank you for your comments. I like moving targets. I tend to pre-focus on my DMR, use a slowish shutter speed (between 1/30th and 1/125th) and pan. One's natural inclination is to pan too fast - slow down and follow the car. I squeeze one frame only during a single pass/lap. Cars are easy as they usually travel along a road/track. Shooting wildlife, now that's a different matter. I'm constantly amazed by Doug Herr's photos, especially the ones of birds in flight. I've tried that and that's really hard! Best wishes, Charlie
