roguewave Posted April 25, 2009 Share #4 Â Posted April 25, 2009 Andy, impressive. A long ways from my first Van Morrison concert. He was solo in Peacock Park. Just him, guitar & harmonica (which he couldn't really play), 1970. Into the Mystic.....
elansprint72 Posted April 25, 2009 Share #5 Â Posted April 25, 2009 I went to see him at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester; he arrived nearly two hours late, somewhat the worse for wear, played two chords (badly), said F......... this etc. and made like Elvis. The crowd were not amused and got a refund. I guess that was about '73 or ''74. Â Nice series of photos.
MPerson Posted April 26, 2009 Author Share #6  Posted April 26, 2009 Thanks guys, the boy is slowly getting the hang of the CL with the VC II meter.  Ben: this was the Astral Weeks stuff he is touring with now. Well worth seeing.  Astral Weeks Tour  One thing I have learnt is they hang back on the other dates and usually announce 6-8 weeks ahead.  Pete: Yep, had that experience several times in the early years with him Last year at the Hammersmith Apollo he apologised for starting 10 mins late!! Michael-IIIf Posted April 29, 2009 Share #13  Posted April 29, 2009 Jack,  A very enjoyable series. Your "great night" comes across in the images.  I saw Van once - Lisdoonvarna 1983 - but I have to say I was bored witless. I've never been much of a Van fan. Now when Christy Moore come on after him that was something else  M
