With some french and some common sence I can more or less figure out what the text is about. But I wonder, could any one who masters aswell the english as the italian language take the trouble to translate the whole lott.

As far as I grab things in italian it appears to me to be a good review, in english many more people across the globe could benefit from the information.

Only a suggestion.

Roberto, thanks for the work.

Pag 12 problem.

Hi Steeve,

the problem is not relative to the Leica lens but to some Voigtlander lens like the Ultron 28 f/1,9. The microlenses manage in wrong way the peripheral beams and introduce an important disturb.

It is not a problem of Leica.

Ciao

Roberto

Many thanks for the trouble you have taken. i am very interested in your findings with the 28 ultron. i know that sean reid will be testing the ultron/m8 combo...and i look forward to his findings avidly. for me a fast 28 + m8 is a core combo, and i am interested in how the (slightly) lower contrast ultron works with the sensor/firmware vs the 28 summicron.

Roberto,

Thank you and congratulations. The photographs look perfect and I am sure the content is also. I wish I could understand Itailan.

I keep the RAWs which you kindly sent as the first and memorable pieces of my M8 folder. Many thanks again.

Regards,

Kamil Sukun

Roberto -- Rome (Milan?) looks lovely after light rain. I particularly appreciate your low light and night shots. On P. 11, I was not sure what lens is used, but the 10-fold light streaks from the streetlights suggest a 10-bladed aperture. The horizontal bleed from the brighter streetlight on p. 12 at ISO 2500 looks like the bleed from the sun shining in the window in two of your first shots (at 1250 and 2500), which were briefly posted. Is this characteristic of the particular camera you are using, or have others seen it with their early M8s as well? I could read some of your text, but didn't find the description of this effect that someone else mentioned earlier.

thanks,

scott

Roberto,

I was very surprised at the good results with the 40 Summicron C. I had never thought of this lens as a valid alternative on the M8. I am now looking for one and am sure the prices on ebay will soar.

Grazie, Roberto, per l'interssantissimo articolo

Thanks for the photos, again; really who cares what camera was used and in what language the text is in, good photographs will always tell a story that we can all appreciate. That's why we are photographers. Again thanks for a great folio.

Robin.

Roberto, What a great review. I expecially like the ISO comparison at the paninoteca. We can see that as the iso increases, the noise is such that the guy on the bicycle vanishes into the noise. :)

The shots make me want to get my Italilan tapes out to get ready for the Spring trip to Milan and Lucano. I'll get out the dictionary tonite and work on the text a bit more.

Molto Grazie
