abrewer Posted April 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 9, 2009 Andy's talking about the "Flickr" logo, not Leica's logo BTW (in case you were confused) Check with Flickr before you pinch their creative output I joined your group and contributed, just so you know we are not all bad here
andybarton Posted April 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted April 9, 2009 I was talking about the Leica logo, actually They stopped Andreas using it for this site, as they are very protective of their brand.

jaapv Posted April 9, 2009 Share #10 Posted April 9, 2009 I'd be careful using the logo, if I were you Someone else owns the copyright to that... Have fun! Not quite - I Not the copyright - that is probably expired by now, if it ever existed. But it is a registered trademark. To use it in a semi-private setting to identify the camera used may well be legal.
ddp Posted April 9, 2009 Share #11 Posted April 9, 2009 I joined as well...and contributed.
dpattinson Posted April 10, 2009 Share #12 Posted April 10, 2009 You might want to consider a daily posting limit, based on my observation of other flickr groups. It encourages people to submit stuff they think is great, rather than anything that was shot on a Leica. Otherwise the pool rapidly becomes a bit of a wasteland/dumping ground. dpattinson Posted April 10, 2009 Share #13 Posted April 10, 2009 Not quite - I Not the copyright - that is probably expired by now, if it ever existed. But it is a registered trademark. To use it in a semi-private setting to identify the camera used may well be legal. There are a bunch of Leica focused Flickr groups which use the red dot logo, I doubt Leica cares, as Flickr specifically prohibits commercial use.
