Advertisement Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Hi Rona!d, Take a look here M8 + Visoflex/Tri-Elmar. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nachkebia Posted October 30, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2006 Nice pictures but nothing special from M8 point of view, so what? as if Dlux could not take same pictures
Rona!d Posted October 30, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted October 30, 2006 Even Canon IXUS could do WHAT makes an M8-shot and what do want to see? I´ve 2.500 shots, maybe something fits your wishes. A lot of guys asked me to post some Visoflex stuff, so that´s it.
cbretteville Posted October 30, 2006 Share #4 Posted October 30, 2006 Ronald, Which adapter did you use to connect the Tele.Elmar to the Visoflex III? (Its all very confusing ). Thanks, - Carl
Rona!d Posted October 30, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted October 30, 2006 Carl, maybe confusing for somebody who is not so familiar with the old M-system (sorry for causing confusion!). For the driver-shots i used the M8+VisoflexIII+Leitz OTZFO+head of TE-135 (the black tube in this shot). For my macroshots i use the M-bellow II instead of the OTZFO and added the "compendium" on the front (this picture). I just want to show, that it´s possible to use that old stuff. Not that i use it daily. The M8 + Viso + OTZFO + TE135-head is by far not as bulky and big as this combination you see here. Maybe I have a shot available on my powerbook at home. Rona!d Posted October 30, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted October 30, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Carl, this is playing with toys, but it´s possible as you can see from the posted pictures. I must clearly mention that the Visoflex is NOT made for the M8 The Crop of 1.33 gives you a crop of what you see in the finder. But with a little testing it works better than using a 135 lens without Visoflex. One could also sign the frame of the crop on the Viso-screen for one or two focal-lenghts. But again: The M8 is not made for 135mm focal length!
cbretteville Posted October 30, 2006 Share #8 Posted October 30, 2006 Ronald, I understand that the VF isn't made for the M8, I'm aware of it being out of production for quite a while. I was actually thinking of using it with my M6 and 135TE. - Carl
ejd Posted October 30, 2006 Share #9 Posted October 30, 2006 But again: The M8 is not made for 135mm focal length! However, with a visoflex attached you are using it as a reflex camera and the limitations on focussing accuracy with the rangefinder do not apply. So why not? Why not even with longer lenses -- and closer focussing? Your black and white pictures with the TE135 look terrific.
davidada Posted October 30, 2006 Share #10 Posted October 30, 2006 Hi Pascal - which dealer in Paris?
Rona!d Posted October 30, 2006 Author Share #11 Posted October 30, 2006 John, that´s why i tried this combination. It gives a nice 180 mm on the M8 and focussing is not an issue as a reflex-camera. I never tried a 135 with the rangefinder, for my taste even with the 0,72 finder of my MP 90 mm is the limit. The Viso-combination gives me more freedom on my travels, with one or two extension-rings i have a nice macro and without a nice tele. One point: The position of the release-button is a little bit different to the other M´s, the Viso-finger does not meet the button of the camera in the center. But it works. However, with a visoflex attached you are using it as a reflex camera and the limitations on focussing accuracy with the rangefinder do not apply. So why not? Why not even with longer lenses -- and closer focussing? Your black and white pictures with the TE135 look terrific.
