biglouis Posted March 16, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 16, 2009 I agree, this is the best of the lot so far. The expression, the colours, the sharpness. A fantastic photographic capture. LouisB
albert Posted March 16, 2009 Share #6 Posted March 16, 2009 I'm in love. I guess I spent too much time in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Wonderful photograph. It's the first time I've seen pollen on a mamal......other than a bat.
jaapv Posted March 16, 2009 Share #7 Posted March 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Great capture, Stuart. National Geographic stuff. I'm envious of the light you had - or maybe film was not up to the challenge of the rainforest.

stuny Posted March 17, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted March 17, 2009 Big, Al & Ece - Thank you. And Al, welcome home. Jaap - Thank you. It's largely the luck of the draw -- You stop and shoot where you find the gorillas. Sometimes they are in a clearing, as is the case here. However, after the first two treks I removed the 2X extender from the 80-200 zoom to get more speed, and because I didn't need that much reach. We had better light on the next two treks, but the faster lens was also a help.
