USA road racer Posted March 17, 2009 Share #7 Posted March 17, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) These are some of the cars that originally sparked my interest in road racing as a child!! Love to see that they still exist. Great photo I may add! Is Paddy Hopkins still alive? Wasn't he married to Sterling Moss's sister or something like that? Paddy HOPKIRK is still alive and well; Pat Moss was married to Stig Blomqvist, I believe that she passed away just this year.

USA road racer Posted March 18, 2009 Share #12 Posted March 18, 2009 Thanks for the corrections to jog my fading memory! It all comes back to me know. These people helped shaped today's rally events. We, unfortunately in the USA don't have special stage rallies anymore. They have been done away with by our legal system and the LAWYERS!!! The insurance companies won't touch a special stage rally in the US anymore. My club, the SCCA had to drop them altogether because of the insurance. So, they have gone to closed circuit rally driving events. Way too boring for me.

I hope that Pike's Peak is still running- that was spectacular.
