stuny Posted March 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 2, 2009 Mike - One of the behaviors that I see in lions is that intensity of attention and concentration, which you've caught exceptionally well.

imported_peter_m Posted March 3, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 3, 2009 Looks like you may have made some easier dinner, just about walked right on her plate You sure must know those animals quite well, takes a lot of knowledge to get that close and stay save. roguewave Posted March 3, 2009 Share #6 Posted March 3, 2009 Mike, you must emit something that keeps these cats at bay. I've never seen so many images of lethality so close to one being.
michali Posted March 3, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted March 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stuart, Martin, Ece & Peter- Thank you for your comments as always really appreciated. Mike, you must emit something that keeps these cats at bay. I've never seen so many images of lethality so close to one being. Ben it must be my after shave! Seriously, I have a very healthy respect for these animals and a great deal of patience, as they probably have with me. There are times when its best to leave them alone. Speaking of lethality, I've spent the past week in the city catching up with friends, and I'm heading back to the bush tomorrow where I feel safer! JLV Posted March 3, 2009 Share #8 Posted March 3, 2009 Breath taking picture and animal. You wonder what she's thinking about at this precise moment. Do I jump or do I stay? Congratulations and thank you for the trip you give us. Jean-Luc

andit Posted March 4, 2009 Share #10 Posted March 4, 2009 Hi Mike, Wonderful image. I know the feeling quite well. The stare of a Lion is piercing - when one looks at you, you know why it is the king of the jungle. Had the fortune of running into two of these guys on foot at Londo's. Was building Fish Eagle Lodge on the northern side of the Sand River, almost an hours drive from main camp. Great capture, works well in black and white with great tonal range.
