wilfredo Posted September 1, 2009 Share #21 Posted September 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) You got it all wrong, the big news will be the announcement of the new Leica CL-D M9. All kidding aside, the mood on this forum is very different from when the M8 was originally announced.

ArtZ Posted September 1, 2009 Author Share #23 Posted September 1, 2009 You got it all wrong, the big news will be the announcement of the new Leica CL-D M9. All kidding aside, the mood on this forum is very different from when the M8 was originally announced. I see Wilfredo, the new CL-D M9 will be your Xtmas present for V***i? wilfredo Posted September 2, 2009 Share #24 Posted September 2, 2009 No, she would still have to focus it and she wouldn't like that. This new baby will be for those who have a thing for Leica rangefinders. The speculating will soon reach a crescendo... Or maybe it already has???? I'm becoming increasingly disinterested in the Sept. 9th announcement.
Martin T-M Posted September 2, 2009 Share #25 Posted September 2, 2009 I love my M...NEIN!
JBA Posted September 2, 2009 Share #26 Posted September 2, 2009 Not M8.4 because 4 means death in Chinese?Japanese character! too Many Asian M8 users....M8 Die<- Can not igonor this. Going by this logic, there will also never be an M9 because in Japanese, at least, 9 is a homophone for pain. Leica cannot afford to alienate the Japanese market this way. That's why there was never an R4 or R9.
bono0272 Posted September 2, 2009 Share #27 Posted September 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) In Chinese 8 = rich, 9 = long lasting. So if China is considered as a great potential market of Leica, either M8.9 or a M9 can work!
ArtZ Posted September 2, 2009 Author Share #28 Posted September 2, 2009 The speculating will soon reach a crescendo... Or maybe it already has???? I'm becoming increasingly disinterested in the Sept. 9th announcement. I do agree with you. I really don't understand this speculating thing especially when many people here are saying "I'm not buying" Leica wanted a buzz. Now they have it but the real question is: Will this buzz translate into a commercial succes? That's less sure...
