kenneth Posted February 12, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) That is, for 25 years and it was good to start printing again. The results are encouraging but lots to learn and images produced by my Summicron lenses are stunning I am very pleased. I would encourage anyone contemplating going down this path to do it. You really realise just how lucky we are to have such outstanding optics when viewed on big prints

topoxforddoc Posted February 12, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 12, 2009 Kenneth, Great! Does that coffee still taste good with fixer? Seriously, I went back to the darkroom about 4 years ago and love it when I get the time. So does my 8 year old son! Best wishes, Charlie

Best wishes, Charlie I think it is quite magical for children, sadly that experience will not be available to many nowadays. To see a child's eyes when the picture starts to appear in the developer. Absolute magic. At 61 years of age I still get a buzz from that as well

You really realise just how lucky we are to have such outstanding optics when viewed on big prints This must be really exciting. I haven't done any wet printing myself for around 27 years, although I have been developing film in the bathroom for the last couple of years. The wife and I are currently negotiating the purchase of a house up in the country, and the room where the darkroom goes is already pegged (not sure if the wife realizes that yet though ). Can't wait. So Kenneth, how big are you printing from 35mm negs?
sgoetzin Posted February 14, 2009 Share #7 Posted February 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes I know how you feel. I do also a lot of wet printing, and I'm always so excited as the first time when I saw the picture appearing in the developper. I print up to 30 x 40 cm in 135 and up to 50 x 60 in 120 both on RC and FB. Serge
