Dear Steve,

I bought my adapter on eBay, thinking that it would be working only with ROM-lenses. At that time, I had ordered the two APOs (90 and 180mm), but when I received the ROXSEN adapter, I only had my old 60mm Macro-Elmarit, and I did not think that focus confirmation would work. It's only while trying to take a picture with this adapter that I saw the red diodes in the finder while focusing. I was the first one surprised. Of course, it also works with the new lenses I got three days ago.

Still, the limitations are due to incoming light: it works best at maximum aperture. Below f:5.6, focusing is difficult (it's difficult even without confirmation, though...). I think this adapter contains a small chip that works on the contrast of the object, because even with ROM lenses, there is no electronic contact between the lens and the EOS body. But as long as I can't afford another R9/DMR or as long as there is no R10, it is a "not so bad" solution...

Cheers

Gérard
