Hello Arrow,

Could this be a Mid-19th Century Military Fortification?

Best Regards,

Michael

Hello Michael,

19c is correct. It was finished around middish 19c. Military fortification is also correct :)

Best wishes, Arrow

Europe is right. France ...... no :( Yet, the etymological origin of a part of the name of the fortress is French. The other part is a name related to the thirty year war. The current purpose of booth building complexes is kind of related to historical contingencies that were common in Europe.

Germany, rather than France. The Bavarian City of ingolstadt and it's fortifications?

You are pretty close, War. Germany is right! Ingolstadt is right, too. Now, what is the name of the semi circular building that is part of the fortification and what is its current use?

Wally really got it, but I believe it's Triva Tower, which is now a Bavarian police museum.

You are quite right. It is Tilly Reduit designed by Leo von Klenze. Today it is part of the Bavarian Army Museum hosting the WWi collection.

The outlook wasn't brilliant for the Mudville nine that day;
the score stood four to two, with but one inning more to play.
And then when Cooney died at first, and Barrows did the same,
a sickly silence fell upon the patrons of the game.

...

I have no idea whether or not Gary Cooper ever visited this town. 😎

Assuming it is my turn...  This ancient graveyard is still, in a limited way, operational.
