psquared Posted December 21, 2009 Share #2941 Posted December 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Santa Catalina and San Clemente Islands, thought they're not part of the Channel Islands National Park, are part of the Channel Islands. Here's the next one. It has a different officical name, but I call it the Dragon Tree. Where is it found?

Guest suilvenman Posted December 21, 2009 Share #2942 Posted December 21, 2009 Sequoia National Park, California? Cheers, Ken.
psquared Posted December 21, 2009 Share #2943 Posted December 21, 2009 Right on. The official name is the Michigan Tree. I suspect the tree was still standing when it was named. A giant tree felled by a little spring that was under it.

Olsen Posted December 22, 2009 Share #2948 Posted December 22, 2009 How many 'Olsen' are there on this memorial? I know there is a lot of them at both the Washington Vietnam Memorial, at Pearl Harbour and Gettisburg.
GMB Posted December 22, 2009 Share #2949 Posted December 22, 2009 I have no idea what that is but a few thoughts that might help others. First, I don't think it's a war memorial because there are too many "and family" mentioned. Second, it looks like it is indoors. Third, I googled a few names and got several hits pointing to Australia.

Guest suilvenman Posted December 22, 2009 Share #2951 Posted December 22, 2009 Apologies to all for keeping you waiting. GMB's thoughts: 1) good deducing - it's not a war memorial 2) this is outside 3) your research has uncovered the correct country Cheers, Ken.
GMB Posted December 22, 2009 Share #2952 Posted December 22, 2009 Ok. Wild guess: Could this be at the Sidney opera metioning the names of people who donated?

Guest suilvenman Posted December 23, 2009 Share #2957 Posted December 23, 2009 Not that one either, GMB, sorry. As a clue, there is kind of link between this wall and Ellis Island in the U.S.. Cheers, Ken.
stuny Posted December 23, 2009 Share #2958 Posted December 23, 2009 The National Monument to Immigration? If I'm correct it's only because of your last clue.
Guest suilvenman Posted December 23, 2009 Share #2959 Posted December 23, 2009 Stuart, GMB, you're both so close that to try to decide as fairly as possible, it will be the first answer to give the less formal title of the wall and the name of the harbour in Sydney where it is situated. Cheers, Ken.
GMB Posted December 24, 2009 Share #2960 Posted December 24, 2009 Last try: The Welcome Wall in Darling Harbor?
