"Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --

Recommended Posts

Maybe you forum-members can help me out. I made this photo in 1987 with an M4 with a Hector 90 and orange filter. I know the country and the region, but I don't know the name of the building, although I know its function and origin.

The winning answer points to the region with a tolerance of 100 km and mentions the function of the building. A bonus (two turns in a row) will be given for the name of the building.

No, maybe I was not clear enough but Anatolia is right, which to my knowledge does not stretch out to Syria, but is part of Turkye.

Anatolia however is quite big and I would like you to narrow it down a bit, but if that's impossible, so be it. I'm off for skiing tomorrow at 11am CET, so if nobody comes up with more specific answers, I'll hand the turn over to thighslapper

I'm back. I thought thighslapper would have taken the turn in the mean time. Since he did not I'll give you another question:

What is the name of this castle and of the village that belongs to it? I passed it last week, in a very castle-ish weather

Thank you, Jim. I have traveled to places I would have never have gone to if it hadn't been for what I discovered about them through this thread. Nikko, Japan was one of them, already about five years ago - this thread has been around for a while, let's keep it going!

I do think however, this thread is dead now. The last two months reactions became less and less frequent. People aren't even guessing to narrow it down to some continent or country.

Let's say goodbye to a nice thread, RIP :)

Hello Everybody,

It seems to me that this Thread is very much alive.

I think that some people have commitments that keep them from taking part in this & other Threads as often as they might like to.

Sometimes there is an ebb & flow in participation.

As for the photo in question: The mist looks very French to me. Could we be in France?

Best Regards,

Michael

Yes Michael, we are in France, but if you recognize France by the mist, then the region should not be a problem for you :) ; maybe this one sheds some more light on it:
