a.j.z Posted February 17, 2015 Share #14987 Posted February 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Teide, Tenerife
thighslapper Posted February 18, 2015 Share #14988 Posted February 18, 2015 El Teide Tenerife ..... at 3700+m one of the biggest volcanoes in the world and also the highest mountain in Spain ...... the first few photos show the Caldera .... or old crater that collapsed leaving a rim about 10km across ...... the current cone developed in the middle ..... dormant at present but the rock is still hot on the top and fumes produced from several vents. A cablecar takes you nearly to the top but the summit is closed except for a limited number of permits a day so you usually have it to yourself .... the last few hundred metres is a bit of a struggle due to the sudden exposure to high altitude ... but worth it for the view with the cloud cover a few thousand metres below you ...... your turn

otto.f Posted February 22, 2015 Share #14998 Posted February 22, 2015 You want to hear more specifics, huh? Is this taken from Ortisei?
a.j.z Posted February 22, 2015 Share #14999 Posted February 22, 2015 Ideally you would name the mountain, otherwise the village (but if you have the village the mountain is easy). Not Ortisei (I had to look it up as I am more familiar with the German names).
a.j.z Posted February 22, 2015 Share #15000 Posted February 22, 2015 ok, it is a little bit surprising that nobody knows or can find it out based on the information we have already. The village is Wolkenstein and the mountain the Sellastock. Otto was closest so it is his turn.
