Correct ....... the original view is coming back from the site of the 'Pleasance' which was a sort of summer house originally reached by boat ..... a huge artificial lake was created by damming the river at the castle partly to create additional defences. Unfortunately our good friend Mr Cromwell had most of the castle demolished and the lake drained..... but what is left is still very impressive..... there was a medieval fair on the day we were there ..... traditional crafts, food and a jousting tournament...

Thanks thighslaper, as I am pretty new to Leica been a Nikon SLR man all my life I don't have much of a Leica library only local interest.

Please please someone post a picture and keep this thread alive. It is the first place I view on this great forum.

BTW Mr. Cromwell was no great friend to Ireland, or to some English King's either :p
